Installing JBoss

The JBoss Application Server is available in source and binary form. If you are new to JBoss, you should plan on using the binary form, since it runs out of the box. The binary distribution is available in the file formats: .zip, .tar.gz, and .bz2. When you download the product, select the file format that is most suitable for your platform using the following procedure.

1. Download the product from the official JBoss website.
2. Extract the server to a folder of your choice. This directory will be referred as the JBOSS_HOME directory in the guide.
   Be sure not to extract JBoss to a directory that contains spaces in the path. Spaces may cause problems for the JBoss installation.
