Starting jAgent as a Service
This section helps you to start jAgent as a service on Windows and Unix platforms. You can start jAgent as a service. The service options allow you to install and start the jAgent as a Win32 Service on Windows platforms and as a daemon on Unix platforms.
Install jAgent on Windows Platform
Using jbase_agenet utility:
jbase_agent install [-n <Service Name>] [-m <working directory>] <options> jbase_agent start [-n <Service Name>] jbase_agent stop [-n <Service Name>] jbase_agent remove [-n <Service Name>]
Using jBASE_jServControl utility:
jServControl install jServControl start jServControl stop jServControl remove jServControl status
jAgent Win32 services send logger messages to the Windows Event Log. Changing the tracing level (–L option) is not applicable to a jAgent service and the system logs only error messages.
Install jAgent on Unix
jbase_agent start <options> jbase_agent stop
