Introduction to Teller Operations
This module involves cash transactions from head office to branches and within branches. Additionally, transactions involve the movements of the important blank vouchers, like inventory management.
Cash and Till Processing
As a banking practice in China, all banks send the request to the People's Bank of China (PBOC) for the cash that is required to provide services to customers. Once the cash is received from PBOC, it will be placed in the vault located either in the head office or region. From there, it would be disbursed to various branch tills. The chief teller, who manages the cash in the branch will further disburse the cash to the teller and monitor the cash flow, limit etc.
This functionality allows users to manage the cash flow from PBOC to the headquarters or region and from there, further down to the branches, and to handle the internal maintenance of the cash within the branch after the cash is received from PBOC, for a smooth cash movement within the branch and for other cash related internal operations like till set up, teller assignment etc.
Also, with this functionality, users are able to define the cash limit at the company level, to modify the teller’s till attributes, and transfer funds between various entities like PBOC, HQ, chief teller, and teller. The following items have been introduced as part of this functionality:

Important Blank Voucher
This functionality allows banks to transfer important blank voucher from the HQ to branch, branch to HQ, branch to branch, between supervisors, supervisors to tellers.
The voucher status is part of important blank voucher. As the stock teller cannot differentiate between normal and yet to be destroyed important blank voucher, bank will setup virtual tills for the yet to be destroyed important blank voucher.
Whenever the bank want to destroy the important blank voucher, the system will transfer the relative voucher from normal to virtual yet to be destroyed. Each branch has to setup its own virtual till for the yet-to–be-destroyed important blank vouchers.
The important blank voucher can be marked to be destroyed in the branch. Once it is marked to be destroyed, this important blank voucher cannot longer be used. The important blank voucher marked as to be destroyed can be transferred between tellers and supervisor. The system also accept the change of the status for the important blank voucher from the to-be-destroyed to normal status, so it can be used again.
There are three statuses for important voucher, which includes: normal, to-be-destroyed and cancelled. The different teller Ids are mapped based on the status of the important blank voucher as follows:
- 9999: Normal.
- 0000: Write off.
- 8888: To-be-destroyed.
